> > > Assistance Director of Institute of East Asia Studies. > Thammasat University. > > [Biography] > Dr. Thapakorn Kamnerdsiri is the Assistant Director of the Institute of East Asia Studies and a lecturer in the Korean Studies Program at the Faculty of Liberal Arts, Thammasat University, Thailand. He specializes in Korean Buddhism, Mahayana philosophy, Korean philosophy, Neo-Confucianism, Won Buddhism, and new religious movements in Korea. He earned his Ph.D. in Korean Buddhist Philosophy and Mahayana Buddhist Philosophy from Chulalongkorn University, where he also completed his M.A. in Eastern Philosophy. His undergraduate studies were in Political Science with a minor in Philosophy at Thammasat University, reflecting his long-standing interest in East Asian thought and religion. > > At Thammasat University, Dr. Kamnerdsiri leads several academic initiatives, including the establishment of the Korean Studies Research Unit, the development of an integrated Korean Studies curriculum, and the launch of the Korean and East Asia Perspective Journal. He also serves as a visiting lecturer at various institutions across Thailand, teaching Korean Buddhism, Korean philosophy, and Korean social and cultural movements. His research encompasses topics such as the Seon philosophy of Bojo Jinul, the historical development of Buddhism on the Korean Peninsula, and the ethical influence of Won Buddhism in modern Korean society. He is an active participant in international academic conferences and continues to promote scholarly exchange between Korea and Thailand. > > > >
